Cable Program Substitution

The Cable Program Substitution (CPS) software has been designed to meet the rigorous demands of multiple head-end cable substitutions. The software consists of two applications. The first is a server application that holds the list of events and hardware drivers to control your hardware. The second application is the client application that accesses the servers over your LAN or WAN. Each client can display eight views of twelve different head-ends with the ability to superimpose more than one head-end on the same view. Grouping of events from different geo-ranges can be accomplished so a single operator can easily control multiple centres with just a couple of clicks. Each server can communicate with 32 clients simultaneously with built-in security and user privileges. Overall channel views (current status) of each centre are also provided. With the advent of digital transport streams, BCI has expanded the portfolio of drivers. Redundant switching has become a major concern amongst engineers and BCI has addressed this with the ability to switch six transport streams from a single operator-initiated switch. These switches can be used for backup and/or picture-in-picture streams (PIP's) across different hardware platforms. The CPS application was exclusively designed for Canadian Simultaneous Substitution.
